compassionate touch

Compassionate Touch is a hands-on complementary approach for those in Eldercare, Hospice and Palliative Care.  It combines Focused Touch and Sensitive Massage techniques with specialized Communication Skills to help enhance Quality of Life for those in later life stages.

As a Certified Compassionate Touch Practitioner, I have worked with seniors in rehabilitation and assisted living facilities, as well as Alzheimers and dementia patients. This work is much needed for those in our communities who lack regular human touch.  It is very powerful and rewarding work and I am honored to be able to do it...

Sensitive Massage can help alleviate aches and pains, increase circulation, provide tactile stimulation, and induce a relaxation response.

Focused Touch supports emotional well-being and can offer a non-verbal means of communication.  It also enhances spiritual well-being resulting in a greater sense of self.

You may experience:

  • Greater ease of movement/joint flexibility
  • Possible reduction in pain medications
  • Greater ease in breathing
  • Improved quality of sleep
  • Reduced feelings of isolation/loneliness
  • Increased feelings of calmness
  • Increased body awareness
  • Feeling of acceptance
  • Improved skin condition
  • Overall sense of well-being
